About Us

Parentline Manawatu is an independent incorporated society registered with the Charities Commission (CC22325). We are affiliated to Jigsaw (formally NZ Child Abuse Prevention Services) nationally and are a member of MAIN (Manawatu Abuse Intervention Network) locally.

Our mission statement is ‘to eliminate child abuse and break the intergenerational cycle of abuse by providing accessible, specialised services for parents and the communities of the Manawatu’.

Parentline Manawatu Inc. was established in the early 1980’s when the Mental Health Association of Palmerston North saw a need for a non-governmental group to address child abuse prevention and parent support in Palmerston North.

A team of trained volunteers are rostered on the phone support line.
